Rachel joined Griffiths and Pegg in 1985 after attending King Edward VI College in Stourbridge. After initially qualifying as an AAT, she continued her training with the firm and became ACCA qualified in 1998.
Her main role with the firm has always been accounting, taxation and audit for small and medium sized companies. She will be extending this role in a partner capacity with the help of a new senior qualified ACCA assistant who starts on 1st February.

We would like to thank everyone who organised or attended the evening and here’s to another succesful event next year! The £7,500 raised on the night was fantastic and a tribute to all those who attended. We were a 60 team sell out with 6 weeks to go, which was simply unbelievable. Thank you!

Dawn and Adrian were very honoured to represent the firm again at the Annual Breast Cancer Campaign Fundraisers’ Evening at The House of Lords.

The event was organised to thank the many corporate and personal fundraisers that support this fantastic charity. Griffiths & Pegg are well known to the employees of the charity, and they asked us to thank you all for helping us to raise £50,000 over the last 10 years, for this charity and for LFBC

Adrian and family raised £700, thanks to our generous clients and contacts, by taking part in the annual sponsored walk on 26th April.

After 20+ year’s loyal service, Jocelyn is finally hanging up her payroll boots and looking forward to a long retirement!

We all wish her well and look forward to still seeing her regularly in the future. Her place has been taken by Linda Pitt, who is already enjoying being part of the team – Welcome Linda!

Our first monthly networking event, in association with Griffin & King, took place on 8th April. 40 attendees enjoyed a lunchtime feast and a prosperous networking opportunity at Hagley Golf and Country Club.

Adrian & Chris attended the ‘Leonard Curtis Table Football World Cup’ at the end of May. They fought off the challenge of 30 other teams, but were beaten 6:5 in the final – as they were presenting in Paraguay, it was a fine achievement!

Adrian was delighted to assist AJT Equipment again at their Savannah, Georgia offices at the beginning of March. This progressive company is going from strength to strength both here and across the pond. Constructive meetings were held with both the company and their advisers, enabling the USA Inc to be ideally placed to reap the rewards of the UK company’s bold and positive expansion in 2008.

We were delighted to sponsor the Glassboys on 6th February and they even managed to make our day by winning a tight tussle 1:0….see www.stourbridgefc.com for details about the football team and their expanding Business Club, which we joined recently.

We presented the Man of the Match award to Jamie Oliver (honestly !), who gave a real “Pukka” performance ! We also gave Stourbridge manager Gary Hackett a memento to thank him for the brilliant work he is doing on a limited budget.

We are delighted to announce that we raised £6,500 at our Annual Breast Cancer Quiz on Monday 9^th November. This brings our grand total to £42,200 over the nine years. Many thanks again to everyone who supported the event.

We exhibited at the Women in Sandwell Enterprises event at The Public in West Bromwich on 21st September. It was an excellent networking and business generation day for ourselves, the 40+ exhibiters and 500+ attendees.

We would like to thank our clients and business contacts for their kind donations of in excess of £1,000, to The Family Fun Day at Stourbridge Rugby Club on Saturday 1st August. The event has been organised to raise much needed funds for Brain Tumour UK, in memory of our client Neil Gordon, who died in 2007. Your brilliant support is greatly appreciated.

We are sad to report the death of David Turberfield, a partner in Griffiths & Pegg in the late 1960s/ early 1970s, on 15th June 2009. He was one of only 8 partners in our 61 year history.

We are very sad to report the passing of Dorrie Griffiths on 29th September 2008. She was the widow of our founder Fred Griffiths, and since his death 20 years ago, always remained a close friend of the practice.

We are extremely pleased to announce that our client AJT Equipment Limited, via its holding company Gordon Holdings Limited, have purchased Roberts Testing Equipment and Roberts Calibration of Savannah, Georgia, USA. After lengthy negotiations and meetings in Savannah between AJT Equipment, ourselves, Roberts Testing Equipment and their professional advisers, a deal was struck that will enable AJT Equipment to expand their worldwide operations.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of Steven Barber to our growing ranks. Steven is a part qualified ACCA student and has joined us to widen his accounting and taxation experience. We look forward to his development within the practice and his continued exam success.

Following our recent success at the Annual Promise Dreams/ Lloyds TSB quiz, Steve Bull popped in to see us to present us with a signed shirt from Italia 1990, which we bought at the auction on the night. We are pleased to support this worthy charity, which raises money for terminally ill children to experience their dreams.
